Data rights
Your Data Rights
Your rights over your personal information, and how to use them with Whitfield & Sons.
Your rights under UK GDPR
The law gives you a number of rights over the personal information we hold about you. These include:
- The right to be informed about how we use your information — which is what this and our Privacy Policy explain.
- The right of access — to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
- The right to rectification — to ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- The right to erasure — to ask us to delete your information where there is no good reason for us to keep it.
- The right to restrict or object to processing in certain circumstances.
- The right to data portability — to ask for your information in a portable format.
- Rights relating to automated decision-making — though we do not make decisions about you by automated means.
How to exercise your rights
To make any of these requests, please contact us by email at info@whitfieldandsons.co.uk, by telephone on 0121 555 0178, by post at 12 High Street, Aston, Birmingham, or B6 4AA. We will respond within one month, and we will not charge you for a routine request. We may need to confirm your identity first, to protect your information.
Complaints
We hope to resolve any concern you have directly. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk — though we would appreciate the chance to help first.
